2019 divided the history of most countries into «before» and «after». We are talking about a pandemic that has swept the whole world. The SARS-CoV-2 virus was first identified among residents of Hubei province (China). In just a few months, a disease called Covid-19 has spread to the inhabitants of the entire planet. Greece and Belarus were not an exception.

Why is covid so dangerous? Regardless of the level of development of a particular state, medical care and other factors, millions of people have become victims of the coronavirus. According to the latest data, this figure is 177 039 062 people, among the total — 3 832 951 deaths. The main symptoms of the disease are: shortness of breath, high fever, dry cough, loss of taste and smell. The world’s leading countries have developed or are working on the production of their own vaccines that protect against COVID-19. Naturally, vaccination is not a 100% guarantee of protection against coronavirus, however, when infected, the disease is transferred much easier.

According to current data (statistics for Saturday, 5 June 2021), the number of cases in Belarus is 398 909 people, total deaths are 2900, and 5006 are sick right now. Such statistics forced the government of the state of Belarus to impose certain restrictions on flights and border crossing.

Is it allowed to enter Belarus from Greece?

Current statistics on the restrictions on entry to Belarus:

During the most «acute» periods of the pandemic, the following restrictions are applied in Belarus:

2. Availability of the test: Negative PCR test results is required for all countries.

In this regard, the government acts in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Association. The distribution of states into separate categories is updated regularly. At the moment, Greece ranks among the states of the «Green» category.

The main reasons for the introduction of new restrictions are coronavirus mutations, an increase in the number of cases, and insufficient vaccination rates.

Before travelling to Belarus, s must pass the PCR test no earlier than 72 hours in advance and submit a written document of an international standard (in English). Also, at the time of arrival, there should be no signs of SARS (fever, chills, runny nose, cough, etc.).

Entry into the Republic of Belarus through a land border for foreign citizens has been temporarily suspended. There is a narrow list of concessions, including for those who have a permanent/temporary residence permit — you should check the State Border Committee website for more information. If you fall into one of the concessional categories, you should be aware that checks at the border might take longer than usual. If you plan to enter or exit Belarus by land, we also advise you to check the travel advice of the relevant neighbouring country, as coronavirus-related border restrictions may be put in place at short notice.No one can currently leave Belarus by a land border unless they have a valid exemption as set out by the Council of Ministers.
