2019 divided the history of most countries into «before» and «after». We are talking about a pandemic that has swept the whole world. The SARS-CoV-2 virus was first identified among residents of Hubei province (China). In just a few months, a disease called Covid-19 has spread to the inhabitants of the entire planet. Czech Republic and Austria were not an exception.

Why is covid so dangerous? Regardless of the level of development of a particular state, medical care and other factors, millions of people have become victims of the coronavirus. According to the latest data, this figure is 183 742 033 people, among the total — 3 976 335 deaths. The main symptoms of the disease are: shortness of breath, high fever, dry cough, loss of taste and smell. The world’s leading countries have developed or are working on the production of their own vaccines that protect against COVID-19. Naturally, vaccination is not a 100% guarantee of protection against coronavirus, however, when infected, the disease is transferred much easier.

According to current data (statistics for Monday, 5 July 2021), the number of cases in Austria is 650 817 people, total deaths are 10 713, and 1726 are sick right now. Such statistics forced the government of the state of Austria to impose certain restrictions on flights and border crossing.

Is it allowed to enter Austria from Czech Republic?

Current statistics on the restrictions on entry to Austria:

During the most «acute» periods of the pandemic, the following restrictions are applied in Austria:

2. Availability of the test: PCR test is required for some countries.

All countries are divided into 3 main categories by the Ministry of Health:

• «Green» (low rate of spread of coronavirus)
• «Orange» (average rate of spread of coronavirus)
• «Red» (high rate of spread of coronavirus)

In this regard, the government acts in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Association. The distribution of states into separate categories is updated regularly. At the moment, Czech Republic ranks among the states of the «Green» category.

The main reasons for the introduction of new restrictions are coronavirus mutations, an increase in the number of cases, and insufficient vaccination rates.

Rules for entering Austria from Czech Republic in 2021

At the moment, Austria is partially opened to foreigners, including s. Quarantine measures are applied to tourism and trade.

Before travelling to Austria, s must pass the PCR test no earlier than 72 hours in advance and submit a written document of an international standard (in English). Also, at the time of arrival, there should be no signs of SARS (fever, chills, runny nose, cough, etc.).

Situation with lockdown in Austria:

No curfew is in effect. With comprehensive health measures in place, catering and accommodation establishments may receive customers and events are possible. Guests have to register and provide proof of their low epidemiological risk by:-proof of vaccination of an EMA licensed vaccine: after the 22nd day of the first vaccination and within three months from that date after the last prescribed dose (if this is also the first dose, 22 days later) and within 9 months from the first vaccination-a medical certificate to proof a recovery from an infection in the past 6 months, confirmed by a positive PCR test (or an Absonderungsbescheid); proof of neutralising antibodies, which must not be older than 3 months;-a negative antigen test not older than 24h, taken at home and registered in an official data processing system;-a negative antigen test not older than 48h, performed from an authorised body;-a negative PCR test not older than 72h.Further opening steps are planned for 1 July.FFP2 masks must be worn indoors in all public areas, in shops and on public transport. Situation with lockdown in Russia:

The state of emergency ended and some businesses have been allowed to reopen. Some shops and services are open (with social distancing limitations). Zoos and botanical gardens have been allowed to reopen.Shops carrying essential goods (such as supermarkets and pharmacies) remain open.Restaurants and bars have reopened.For checking into a hotel, visiting museums, and attending public events (among other things) people have to present (1) a PCR test less than three days old, (2) an antigen test taken in the previous 24 hours, (3) proof of recovery from COVID-19 in the last 180 days, or (4) vaccination proof (that meets the requirements).

Thus, the restrictions associated with the coronavirus dictate living conditions in 2021. Each state has developed its own border crossing rules and entry rules. It all depends on the general situation with the spread of COVID-19.
